They provide the perfect kind of gentle, deep watering that I prefer. They help me have a lush green lawn, even though its just ordinary bermuda grass, and even though I only water once every two weeks! I let the hose sprinkle gently for about two hours on each area of my lawn, then shift it to another--it does take a few minutes setting up and adjusting the water pressure to give just the coverage I want, but since I don't have an inground sprinkler system, this works best for me. I store the hose on a cord reel (the kind made for 100 feet of heavy-duty extension cords), so it's a simple matter of reeling it out across the area I want to water, then reeling it up again when I'm done--keeps it neat and free of kinks ... plus, it keeps it out of the "hands" of the raccoons, who used to chew it to pieces before I came up with the idea of using the cord reel. The only possible problem which I see is that the holes go all the way to the faucet connection. This may be problematic since water can seep into your home's foundation. I would end up wasting a great deal of time untwisting it. I found that it is easiest way to get it untwisted was to turn the water on and just get soaking wet, but save time. Upon about the 10th use a rose thorn slashed it and it was kaput. |
