All of other hoses I've tried kinked. Period. And continual kinking of the same areas eventually lead to bursting hoses, which means my "hose fix kit" keeps making the usable hose shorter and shorter, until finally I have a spigot with a sprayer directly attached to it. But low and behold, reading the reviews of Gilmour Flexogens, you simply can't go wrong here. May cost more up front, but if there's EVER a problem with the hose, snip the ends, send it to Gilmour, tell them how long you want, and they'll send you a replacement. Period. No questions asked, no reciept. Just a "have a good day" and you're off spraying your neighbor's cat again. Also, I used to use 3/4" hose because we have very good water pressure out of the spigot, but I figured with the warranty the 1/2" would work. It is not too heavy so that makes it a lot easier to handle. The diameter of the hose is only a half inch and I prefer this to the standard 5/8" size because it still delivers plenty of water and yet when you are filling a watering can, the water pressure is less, so the hose does not fall out of or tip over the watering can. It is well reinforced where it connects to the faucet.
