| 44 of 45 people found the following review helpful  Follow the instructions, By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Suncast RSW125D Mocha Wicker 125-Foot Capacity Touch and Go Hose Reel (Lawn & Patio) I just got this hose reel, so I'll just go over my initial impressions.Out of the box you get the hose, a package that contains the circle piece that goes around the end of the hose, two stakes, leader hose, and drain hose. Pretty standard to get it all setup. After I got it setup, I had it pull in my 100' of commercial grade hose. Now the instructions say this is too thick of hose, but it wound it up without issue when the hose was coiled up right there. However because there wasn't any tension on the hose when I did this, it caused the spool inside to be wrapped too loosely, causing issues getting it back off. I then pulled all the hose out (which slides out nice and smooth, far easier than pulling off a pile), and went to pull it in again. Through grass it couldn't reel in my 100' with the water power, but again this hose probably weighs twice as much as the hose they recommend you use. The (Chinese?) manufacturer of those parts used a substandard metal that sheared/broke in my first season of use, the other connecting parts rusted, unlike brass fittings they try to imitate. The break (as I have seen in cheap screws and metal parts manufactured without any quality control) makes it impossible to connect my supply hose properly to the reel, and the part is impossible to repair, rendering an otherwise good product completely useless. The reel will not easily let you pull the hose out although it retracts fine. The pins to secure it to the ground are mostly useless. |
