The Tuff Guard Flat was developed from the same technology used in fire suppression hoses, and combines high performance in a lightweight and durable package. The patented Mertex inner lining provides lower friction loss than standard consumer flat hoses, and will not separate from the outer heavy duty textile weave. Brass connectors are rustproof, and the hose is resistant to most chemicals, petrol products, ozone and U.V. exposure, hydrolysis, and rot and mildew. Will remain flexible to -65 Degree F. Meets or exceeds all performance requirements of the National Fire Protection Association NFPA 1961 Standard. Great for garden use, where the lighter weight will not damage landscaping. The textile weave is gentle on vehicles, and makes storage easy in compact spaces such as boats or RVs.

While I have only had this hose a few weeks, it is already the best flat hose I've used, and I've tried several over the past few years. I really like the flat hoses as they are lighter and more easily maneuverable, but most develop pinholes and leak. This one appears to be much more durable than the other nylon hoses out there. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because, like other flat hoses, it kinks easily and you really have to make sure it is fully stretched and not kinked before you turn on the water. That probably is due to the hose type, and not this particular hose, though. I am so pleased, I've ordered three of them. I will update this if I have any problems, but so far, so good!

works as described but kinks all the time..needs to be straitened out all the time..I have never found a kink proof hose unless it was a metal pipe..it is lightweight and easy to move..but has to be in a straight line to work

I have had multiple flat hoses since my wife/gardener needs light weight equipment. I have finally found one which holds up well and is easy to carry. Other products failed quickly after first use.
