I bought this with that in mind - it has the best specs of any other "drinking water safe" hose (most just meet FDA standards, this one meets the stricter California standards for about the same price). I really didn't care too much about how well it worked: my kids were mostly going to squirt each other with it, so leaking was not a concern. As it turns out this is the first hose I've bought that doesn't leak at some point. It's also pretty light weight which means my two year old can get in on the squirting action. Like any light weight hose it does kink pretty easily, but again, not really the kind of thing I was concerned about.If you are looking for something to water your plants with you might want something heavier that kinks less. It worked well and I felt comfortable that the hose was keeping the drinking water safe.
