I say 'decent' because there are hoses that are much more sturdy, less kink-prone, lighter, heavier, stiffer, not as stiff, etc., whatever attributes you are looking for in a hose.Regarding statements such as "last hose you'll ever buy": not very likely. It's a basic hose, and it's not state-of-the-art. Anyone who uses their hoses once in a while will buy another one, because this one will eventually break. Lifetime warranty: Personally, I hate lifetime warranties and "exchanges with no questions asked". First, the price of such a product necessarily is extremely high, compared to its 'value', so that the manufacturer can make a profit while allowing 100% exchanges over the years. Second, I cringe at the thought of having to pay for all those negligent users who run over their hose with a lawnmower (sorry C. Kennedy), keep their hoses in the sun all year round, don't put them away before it freezes, etc. People should take responsibility... I've never found a hose that does not kink at all, but this one doesn't kink much, and when it does it is easy to unkink. I will replace all my hoses with this type of hose. Maybe because in the past I just bought the cheap Walmart ones, but this black hose is such an improvement over those! I now have several of them for my home and a few years ago also bought them for the cabin. And, up at the cabin the rockchucks decided the hose would make a good lunch--and although I can see teeth marks--they never made it through to the core so even after several years of bite marks the hoses are still good. And yes, I leave mine out all summer and only bring them inside for the winter. I'm ordering another 50 footer today to extend my reach. Great product. |
