Other models I've owned have featured a horizontal input connection, which has put a strain in the supply hose (the one coming from your spigot or other water source. Typically, these hose stands are backed up against a wall, and you end up having to permanently bend your supply hose to accommodate the horizontal input and squeeze it in place. This eventually leads to failure, and puts undue sideways pressure on the input in the back of the stand. THIS model has a 90-degree input connection, and points DOWNWARD -- utterly brilliant! Your supply hose lays on the ground, and easily and naturally turns upwards to connect to the back of the hose stand. No awkwardly-bent... The description didn't mention the hole digging business. Others I've purchased in the past included a stake you pound into the ground and slide the pole down over the stake and I assumed this one was the same. In this case I bought a T-post for fencing at Tractor Supply and some plastic supplies and attached the faucet to the T-post. Be sure to also get a good strong hose to go between this and the water source. If that breaks and you leave the water on you will have a major water leak. |
